Lost star Daniel Dae Kim has signed on for a lead role in a remake of TV series Hawaii Five-0.
The 41-year-old actor is best known for his part as Jin-Soo Kwon on the island drama, which was filmed in Hawaii.
He has now signed up for CBS’s remake on the classic cop series and he will play the role of Detective Chin Ho Kelly, which was originally played by Kam Fong.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Moonlight star Alex O’Loughlin is in talks for the role of Detective Steve McGarrett, but nothing has yet been confirmed.
Kate Major, the Star magazine reporter linked to father-of-eight Jon Gosselin, has announced her involvement with the reality-TV star and quit her job.
Major and Gosselin, who is divorcing his wife, Kate, had stolen away to the Hamptons and were staying at Michael Lohan’s place. Major is said to have become friends with Lohan after covering his starlet daughter Lindsay as a celebrity journalist.
Gosselin earlier was on a European sojourn with Hailey Glassman. A source said: “Jon hasn’t spoken to Hailey about Kate Major. She really doesn’t know much about what happened except that Jon isn’t with her any more.”
But a source said reports of Glassman’s wild past had caused rows between the pair. “Jon and Hailey had been fighting a lot lately, mostly because her party history has come out. After one video of Hailey smoking weed came out, Jon told her it could hurt him in his divorce.”
Glassman is said to be angry and hurt over Gosselin’s betrayal. “She feels like she gave so much of herself and put up with her whole crazy history coming out, only to be thrown to the curb. Hailey also feels like she made Jon chic. He dressed a lot more ‘dorky’ before her. She feels she helped him gain some style, and the attention he got from it went to his head.”
Lohan, meanwhile, had confirmed Gosselin and Major were holed up with him. He said: “Let me ask you a question: If she [Major] was using him why did she resign from the Star?’”
Lohan denied reports in a New York newspaper that Major had been in rehab for drug problems.
“No. People shouldn’t start writing that. She didn’t go to rehab for drugs or alcohol or anything like that. She went for crisis counselling. And that’s it.”

Funnyman Tracy Morgan has proudly spoken about staying sober for 18 months, following his drink-driving arrest woes.
The 30 Rock star was arrested for drunk driving in 2005 and 2006, and in May 2007 was fitted with a special ankle bracelet to monitor his alcohol levels.
But these days, he insists that he is sober – and a changed man, who can actually remember what he does in life.
“I’ve been sober for a year-and-a-half now, and I feel it all,” he said.
“I’m not inebriated anymore. I want to feel the good, the bad and the ugly.
“I want to remember it all. I couldn’t do that when I wasn’t sober.”
The comedian also revealed that confronting his drinking problem has brought him closer to his three sons, Gitrid, 23, Malcolm, 21, and Tracy Jr, 17.
“We have a stronger relationship than ever,” he said.
“I’m not [as] crazy as you’d think. They have grown to be respectable young men that are funnier that I could ever be.”
The TV star also admitted to watching a lot of TV – but revealed that he is very selective about the programmes he tunes into.
“When I watch television, I got to walk away with a new type of knowledge. I get none of that from Kendra [Wilkinson] and Hugh Hefner and his girlfriends. I’m not a ninth-grader who gets enticed by the female anatomy like that!”

Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley has admitted music is his “first passion” but he said he won’t be swapping careers any time soon.
Talking about music, Penn, 22, said: “Years from now, maybe you’ll see something, but for the moment, it’s something that I don’t [want to do].”
Penn, who plays Dan Humphrey in the US sitcom, appeared with his girlfriend and Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively on the red carpet at a recent Burberry party when he revealed his love of music.
He said: “I mean music is my first passion, but because of that I don’t really want to just take a first step in the wrong direction.
“At the moment, I just want to be sensible about what I do. I just write and I play, and that’s all I need for myself right now.”

The Gossip Girl star says he loves the music legend – so he got the name of his songs inked on his chest.
He revealed” “I’m a big fan of Elvis.
“I’ve got ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ tattooed on my chest.
British-born Ed, 21, who plays Chuck Bass on the hit teen TV drama, said he also has the words ‘I Heart Romance’ emblazoned on his forearm.
He said: “I saw it in a bathroom stall in a bar in Brooklyn. I thought it was cool, so I got it.
“I plan to get way more – they’re addictive. Get one. You’ll never look back.
“Live fast, die young. Be a good-looking corpse. Leave a good-looking tattoo.”

After denying an affair with her co-star Eddie Cibrian last week both through her blog as well as in a TV interview, LeAnn Rimes is seen here in a very public display of affection with her hubby Dean Sheremet.

It’s really no surprise that Rimes and Cibrian’s Lifetime TV movie, Northern Lights, became the network’s most watched movie so far this year!
4.5 million viewers tuned in to the premiere to see the on-screen affair of the real-life cheaters.
Chris Brown was in court to deal with his Rihanna situation… sort of. His attorney asked for a postponement and it was granted. The appearance lasted all of about 4 minutes.
Then I went and checked out Chris’s MySpace page Thursday night and saw this latest entry. If it wasn’t him, then his ‘people’ do not have any class nor do they apparently seem to grasp the severity of the charges he is facing.
I can’t believe he/they have the audacity to campaign for an award right now… then again… what is sick is all the support for him and the hating on Rihanna that is in his My Space Comment section.
It is really a shame that Nickelodeon cannot repeal its nominations.

It seems JD Fortune Wasn’t Kicked Out Of INXS so says his manager.
JD competed against thousands of hopefuls on reality TV show Rock Star: INXS and eventually won the lead spot in the Australian rock band. He toured with them for 23 months and lived the life of a rock star.
He then developed a drug habit he says.
JD Fortune won the role to be their lead singer back in October 2005 after a long search after the suicide of Michael Hutchence. Fast forward to now… he’s homeless and jobless.
JD (aka Jason Dean Bennison) recently did an interview with ET Canada and said he was let go by INXS at a Hong Kong airport with little more than a handshake and a “Thank you very much”.
By his own admission he is a heavy cocaine user, which sadly is the same drug that was found in Michael Hutchence’s system after his death.
JD sadly told Canada’s Entertainment Tonight:
“I found myself really alone because I had travelled with these guys for 23 months”.
INXS’ creative director and global business strategist Chris Murphy has spoken out against JD’s accusation of being abandoned on behalf of the band who are confused by his allegations. He is even still named as a member of the band on the INXS website.
Murphy says:
“Not only are we shocked by the claims, even the place the supposed incident was to have taken place is a mystery to the band. What annoys me the most after viewing Fortune’s interview is the bloody slant he makes toward the founding band members. These guys are the nicest people on this planet; they are not the people he portrays.”
Although now, in an apparently self inflicted blow, it seems that JD really can consider himself fired now:
“The band has always stated to me that Fortune’s services could potentially be contracted again when INXS next tour. In fact he was next on my list to call regarding a very big recording project I am putting together for INXS at present” explained Murphy, “I guess I have no reason to call him now.”
JD’s also plugged his new solo album, which he’ll release on his Myspace page.
JD chose the last name ‘Fortune’ as his moniker, but sadly it seems he blew his fortune.
Hilary Duff was snapped by the paparazzi as she was doing some grocery shopping at Whole Foods in Studio City, Calif. on Friday (February 20). So stylishly dressed in gold hooped earrings spiky three inch heeled boots and a big dollar Birkin handbag.
I’m jealous, it’s a cool outfit and I dress exactly the same way when I’m out pushing a cart full of food!
Hilary will do a guest appearance on Ghost Whisperer with Jennifer Love Hewitt. She recently said:
“JLH’s one of my friends, and we were having dinner one night. She’s like, ‘Come be on my show. You know, we’re almost finished.’ I’m like, ‘Give me a part. I’ll do it!’ And it just kind of came about really naturally and organically like that.”
When she says the role came about ‘organically’ I’m thinking she meant that she got the role without all the hassles such as auditioning, call backs, agents involved, etc.
Joaquin sat for an interview with David Letterman to talk about his new film Two Lovers with Gwyenneth Paltrow. He has retired from making films and now is pursuing a career in rap, although if he is done with Hollywood, wonder why he is going through the motions of still doing the talk show scene?
With his family’s history of drugs, (his brother River died of a drug overdose) his own wacked out behavior lately, the fact that addiction runs in his family, and more importantly that he lives in Hollyweird, the cesspool of drugs and alcohol, is it that far fetched that this man is under the influence?
I think not.
Just because he cracked a smile a few times doesn’t mean he had an inkling of what was actually going on.
He’s definitely moved up the gossip and crazy ladder which in his business, keeps him newsworthy!
It’s seems as if he had a difficult time keeping a straight face through most of this interview. He’s probably stoned and the whole “hip-hop” thing is a joke and Letterman is in on it.

In other Rihanna news, Feeding America and Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recently announced that Rihanna will perform at an inauguration charity ball on January 20, 2009 in Washington, D.C. All of the proceeds from the after-party will go directly to Feeding America.
Vicki Escarra, president and CEO of Feeding America, said:
“We are thrilled to have Rihanna’s participation in the inauguration charity ball. As the prevalence of hunger in America increases at an unprecedented rate, we are most grateful to Rihanna and to RIAA for helping us bring greater visibility to this tragic reality and helping us feed millions more people in need.”

Apparently Mariah is still reeling from hubby Nick Cannon’s comments about their no-sex-before-marriage pact. She feels her boy went too far when he told the world they waited until their wedding night to have sex for the first time. I agree.

“Why did he tell that story…? He just told people… I didn’t want him to let everybody know that but I never said anything about it; I didn’t say, ‘Don’t tell people’.”
She then insisted that they were not totally innocent:
“We were intimate but weren’t completely intimate in the biblical sense.”

“I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great, and it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?”
She’s apparently already had a meeting with reps from Warner Bros. and DC Comics where she told them she was interested in the role Lynda Carter made famous in the 1970s.
Beyonce knows very well she would need to be fit for the wonder woman role and the newspaper quotes her as saying to them:
“I would definitely have to keep it right for that costume. The way that Lynda Carter wore it, she was sooo fine.”
