Within four hours of the announcement that his controversial, politically charged ninth album was number one in the country, Nas was standing on a small podium in front of Fox News headquarters in New York City protesting what he views as racist attacks against Black Americans and presidential candidate Barack Obama.
In a brief prepared statement, Nas said this:
“Fox poisons this country every time they air racist propaganda and try to call it news. This should outrage every American that Fox uses hateful language to talk about the person that may be the first black president.”
Nas gave examples of what he and ColorOfChange see as a long racist smear campaign against the Obama family and they were as follows:
–The onscreen graphic that referred to Michelle Obama as the Senator’s “baby mama”
– Bill O’Reilly sarcastically using the phrase “lynching party” to refer to attacks on the Senator’s wife — Referencing on how Obama and his wife’s fist thump each other by commenting it to be a “terrorist fist jab.”
He stood beside 19 neatly stacked cardboard boxes, with the number 620,127 taped to the side of each one — indicating that over 600,000 signatures gathered by ColorOfChange are demanding that network president Roger Ailes “find a solution to address racial stereotyping and hate-mongering before it hits the airwaves.”
Fox rejected the petitions, but Brave New Films says that Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report will accept them instead.
ColorOfChange contacted Nas after seeing the lyrics to “Sly Fox” posted on the Brave New Films website. “We looked at it and said, ‘This is exactly what we’re talking about,’” ColorOfChange deputy director Andre Banks told Rolling Stone. Just two weeks later, Nas was here speaking to fans, protesters and press spilling out into 6th Avenue, some even holding homemade signs markered with lyrics from the song.
When asked what his response to “Sly Fox,” was Nas said: “Nah, they’re scared of me.”
Jessica attempted her first country concert at the Country Thunder in Wisc. last night. Let’s just say she was greeted with ‘boos’ and it didn’t get any better after that. Audience members were unhappy with her performance. People were quoted saying “It’s crap, she doesn’t belong here,” “She’s not good enough to be here,” and “She’s an embarrassment to country music.”

Miley Cyrus was at Universal studio with her mom and younger ciblings. She made her way through the crowds and posed with random fans. Here she is looking pretty sweet with two girls that seem very happy. I am sure that will be their myspace/facebook profile picture for days.
Nicole Richie was involved in an altercation just a little after midnight with a female while in line at the valet outside the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.
Sources say Richie ended up being escorted off the property by security because of her Rowdy behaviour!
Her rep denies the claims: “She was in Vegas but there wasn’t an altercation of any kind involving her.”
I have been searching around for something funny to post and really nothing caught my eye. Then I saw this picture and I knew instantly that is what I was going to post about. Amy Winehouse is just such a character. Here she is knocking on some door sticking her butt out. Someone needs to control this crackhead. I am not sure whether to laugh at this picture or feel sorry for her. Like why is she leaning on the door like that? Is she listening to something?
Hilary Duff was having a great time shopping for some flowers and snacks. Looks like she was planning a fun fourth of Julyy (probably with her boytoy Mike). She looked really cute in that dress and heels as she went in the supermarket.

Jessica Simpson was snapped by the paparazzi wearing a t-shirt that read “Real Girls Eat Meat’ and this apparently has upset Pamela Anderson, a devoted vegetarian and high profile member of PETA. I actually think that the shirt was a lame attempt by Jessica to make a dig about her boyfriend Tony Roma’s ex girlfriend Carrie Underwood who is a vegetarian but even if it wasn’t, I really don’t get the hateful reaction.
Speaking on an Australian radio station, Pam fumed:
“I think she is a bitch and whore. Actually, I don’t know if she was talking about food or men. [Not eating meat] is healthy, good for your body and good for the environment.”
Umm, Pamela Anderson has slept with her fair share of men, has been married and divorced a few times, has a sex tape that was leaked to the internet… she really has cheek to be calling Jessica Simpson names! *meow*

According to Idolator.com, Avril Lavigne’s Girlfriend video is currently Youtube’s all-time no. 2 clip, “having been viewed some 88,739,107″ times.
Is she getting that many views or are some of her more rabid fans helping it along? It now appears that a devious plan has been in the works to move her into the top spot!
