Beyonce will perform for the third time in her career at the 2008 American Music Awards. She was just added to the list of previously announced performers some of whom include Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, Mariah Carey, Coldplay, New Kids on the Block, Pussycat Dolls, P!nk, and The Fray.
Annie Lennox will be honored with a special Award of Merit.
Jimmy Kimmel will be the host and the show will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. on Sunday, November 23 @ 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
The Ting Tings who were sharing a dressing room with Kanye at the MTV Europe Awards found out just how pissed off he can get. They walked into the room and found urine on the floor. His urine. Their drummer told The Sun:
“We ask for a lot of unusual things on our backstage rider but that ain’t one of them!”
I know he wasn’t raised that way. His late mother Dr Donda West was a Professor of English at Clark Atlanta University, and the Chair of the English Department at Chicago State University before becoming his manager.
He seems to be of the mindset that : “I’m a celebrity, I can do whatever I want.” His mother did the best she could to give him a good education, and proper upbringing. Since the woman died, there is no one to keep him in line. Someone should have rubbed his nose in his mess.
Can’t wait to read if he rants on his blog trying to explain himself.
Kanye played some basket ball in Hawaii on Sunday. He must have sampled a few too many cheeseburgers as it seems as if he has put on a few pounds. He’s on a quest to bring the Fatburger chain to Chicago since buying the rights to open 10 branches of the fast food restaurant chain. The first eatery in Orland Park is scheduled for next month with a second one scheduled for a Jan. 2009 opening.
I’ve heard some negativity about his new vodka commercial. It has some geeky guys take a fizzy tablet much like alka seltzer so they can be more like Kanye. It apparently gives off the vibe that if you drink Vodka you can be like him. *sigh* He really is full of himself, although that is part of his charm.
So I decided at the very last minute I was going to head down to the stadium and buy tickets from one of the scalpers that hang around in front of the events. No one on craiglist was caving they still wanted 200 bucks a ticket in nosebleed. (I am way to cheap to pay that) I called up my friend and we were off to try and get tickets to Kanye West.
We asked around and finally found a desperate scalper that gave us tickets for 80 bucks each, row 21 floor. We were stoked and off we went. We had missed Lupe Fiasco, and NERD but we weren’t too concerned.
Here are a few highlights from the concert
Rihanna did a great job, although most of the time I couldn’t help but think how terrible her hair looks. At one point she looked too much like Michael Jackson that it scared me. She had on this red jacket, and these leather pants, and it just reminded me of thriller.
One last thing on Rihanna, she made quite the scandalous move with the microphone while singing Lauren Hill’s “That Thing”. I didn’t get a movie, of it so I searched on youtube and found one but you can’t really see because the camera cuts it off. You can kinda see what she is up to. She uses the microphone as a male appendage!
On to Kanye…
He did the whole show on his own, no dancer or anything. It was basically just him and his broken spaceship. Oh did I mention that the spaceship talked? I have to say that Kanye’s acting was so cheezy but it did make me smile a few times. The highlight was definitely when these shooting stars came down, and told him he was the “biggest star in the universe”. Later on, the spaceship told Kanye that it needed his superstar energy to get repaired so they could get back home. Oh and Kanye also prays to God that if they get back to earth, he won’t spaz at award shows anymore!
One more thing, everyone kept putting up their hands in the shape of diamonds, and I was so confused as to why they kept doing this through the whole concert. I think it has something to do with the song Diamonds Are Forever… I am still pondering about that…
Fastforwarding to the encore, Kanye went on a wild rap rant about how everyone thinks he is arrogant, and explained his behavior by saying when we see athletes angry on the sidelines after losing a game, that Kanye is just feeling the same way, and that he loves to express himself. He also mentioned that reviewers that ’sit amongst the fans’ waiting to criticize him would only mention that he thought he was the biggest star in the universe. Seriously Kanye, why would you even say that, you know that anyone who hears that will tell whoever will listen. If he hates people that critique things, he shouldn’t give them fuel to work with.
Lastly as we were leaving the concert we were given a little book called. Thank You and You’re Welcome. It was a nice gesture on Kanye’s part to give everyone a little gift. Inside this book was more rants from Kanye but in a more philosophical way.
So I have been anxiously waiting for someone to post tickets for cost on craigslist. None of those buggers are backing down. Its 6pm and the concert starts at 7! Everyone wants at least 100 dollars over the cost price some even want that for balcony. It is really peeving me off, because the concert sold out in like 2 seconds. Looks like I am just going to be watching the concert on youtube. I only want to go to see what all the hype is about for this concert. Anyway I am going to go keep pressing refresh until 7.

Chris Milk told me tragedy can produce great art and this is definitely true. I am a total mad man now, up till 3 am every night, trying 2 fight pain, board-um, and uncertainty with creativity. All that said, life is good….. good as finding the perfect fabric for a simple one button casual blazer with matching pants.”
Kanye has finally opened up about to his mom that is the first step in getting through a tragedy. Hopefully his glow tour will get him through these tough times. I don’t really like Kanye very much but I can’t help but feel for him.
Kanye posted the following odd blog entry about his upcoming Glow in the Dark Tour. I personally wouldn’t want to give Kanye any of my money just because of his attitude but now I am very intrigued by this light show. I think I will most likely just watch it on youtube… although it won’t be the same as actually being there.

While attempting to sing the song “Hey Mama,” Kanye West was overcome with emotion and began crying.
Here is the video on YouTube that became available today, Kanye, unable to sing, covers his hands over his face and remains standing in the middle of the stage as the band starts to play the song. Afew band members go over and try to console him.
The crowd can be heard chanting his name repeatedly in support.
Kanye left the stage, but eventually returned to perform the song “Stronger” with the audience enthusiastically yelling out their support. He will be flying back to the US for his mother’s funeral, which will be held on Tuesday in Oklahoma City.
I checked out Kanye’s new blog and am in awe of what a busy boy he’s been in filling it up with thought provoking ramblings, pics, and news clips of himself. Since he lost out yet again at the MTV Awards this year, it’s very apparent he has been spending way too much time on his site. He posted 5 times in one day the other day! I really don’t give a s**t what runners he thinks are all that, or what his favourite clips on YouTube are, but he apparently feels the need to keep his fans up to date on all things ‘Kanye’.

Apparently Kanye was “stomping around his entourage.” This is not the first time West has complained about an awards show remember last year, when he crashed the stage at the MTV Europe Awards and started ranting how great he was?
I think Kanye has gone too far, he isn’t that great. He is an average performer just like the rest of the guys around today. His cocky attitude makes me want to vomit.
