Snooki meets snakey! The big-haired Jersey Shore star got up close and personal with a slippery reptile during a night out in North Carolina.

Snooki, 22, posed for a photo with the pet’s owner in a Charlotte bar and posted the pic on social networking website Twitter.

“His snake was cool,” she told her fans.

Snooki, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, is arguably the best known character in MTV reality show Jersey Shore.

She featured heavily in the most controversial episode of the show to date – when cameras caught her being punched in the face by a man at a bar.

The second series is due to start in the US on July 29.

So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley said she still can’t get the hang of US roads after five years there.

The 33-year-old British presenter moved to the US five years ago, and she admitted that she still hasn’t figured out the roads in America and has had a number of minor accidents involving a tree and a wall.

She said to UK newspaper Daily Express: “At least I haven’t hit a person yet.

“I know I’m doing nothing to quell the rumours of women being bad drivers, but I’m really struggling with this.

“I’m thoroughly dreadful at the wheel.”

Meredith Vieira has spoken about her former The View co-host Barbara Walters, describing her as “an amazing person”.

“I’ve never seen anybody with a constitution like hers,” People magazine reports Vieira commenting.

“She’s like a horse. She eats so much – she’s like a healthy, gorgeous, incredible woman.”

The 80-year-old journalist is currently recovering after having a heart valve replaced last week.

Walters took to Twitter after the surgery to thank fans and reassure them she was on the road to recovery: “Thank u for all good wishes. Very touched. I will be fine.”

A representative of Walters stated last week: “[Her] surgery went well and the doctors are very pleased with the outcome.”

The husband of Dukes of Hazzard star Catherine Bach has been found dead after an apparent suicide.

Peter Lopez, who was one of Michael Jackson’s music attorneys, had been married to Bach since 1990 and the couple have two children together.

Paramedics responded to a report of a shooting at Lopez’s home in Encino, just outside Los Angeles, at around 11:30am on Friday. Police have confirmed that the 60-year-old’s death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.

Bach starred as Daisy Duke on The Dukes Of Hazzard TV show.

Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss has spoken out about her time in jail and said she was ’scared’.

The 44-year-old was asked about her time in prison by Celebrity Big Brother housemate Stephanie Beacham. Fleiss served just 21 months of a 37-month sentence for tax evasion, which was connected to a prostitute ring that she ran.

Beacham said to her: “Boy, after three-and-a-half or three years or whatever it was Heidi, you must have been absolutely institutionalised.”

Fleiss said: “Yeah I was scared.”

Talking about leaving prison, she said: “It was weird, everything was weird. Every car looked like a spaceship to me.

“And when technology changed, the whole internet happened when I was away.”

Little Britain star Matt Lucas has held a star-studded memorial service for his ex-husband Kevin McGee.

The 35-year-old was left devastated when his former husband McGee hanged himself in October following an addiction to cocaine.

Celebrities including Lenny Henry, Dawn French, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne were among those who attended the secretly arranged bash.

Before the tribute started, Lucas said: “I am terrified of my speech.”

He reportedly wept as he paid tribute to McGee and told of his addiction, which led to their marriage break-up 10 months before his death.

Actor David Hasselhoff has reportedly fallen off the wagon during a boozy trip to a Canadian casino.

The former Baywatch star made a drunken spectacle out of himself in British Columbia last weekend, TMZ.com reports.

The website reports the 57-year-old caused a scene at the Cascade Casino by getting involved in an altercation with an elderly customer.

Three casino security personnel were called to the scene and the America’s Got Talent judge was spirited away.

The Hoff was reportedly spotted drinking again seven hours later.

Hasselhoff has famously struggled with alcohol problems in the past and has publicly admitted receiving treatment to curb his addiction.

The actor’s representatives have not yet commented on the matter.

Cher’s 40-year-old daughter, who has now undergone gender reassignment surgery to become a man, told the Insider that he has never truly felt female.

When asked how supportive his superstar mother has been during the traumatic sex-change period, Chaz replied: “My mum loves me a lot but after being on the planet with her for 40 years I’ve learned not to speak for her, so I’ll let her answer it for herself.”

He added: “I didn’t ever feel like a woman so there’s nothing that I miss about it.

“The toughest part of the process has been getting comfortable enough to begin the process.

“The biggest misconception [is] that this is something [that] is taken lightly – that you wake up one day and decide you’re gonna change your gender.

“People struggle with it for years and years and I know that I struggled with this.

“It’s been a lot of work to come to the decision to finally do this.”
