Well well who to believe? Britney’s manager Larry Rudolph had adamantly stated unequivocally that Britney would not be appearing at the MTV VMAs but… the rumours are abuzzing that she will as a presenter!
Even though nobody from MTV will officially state on record that she is going to show, production crew and wardrobe people are making preparations for Brit. Supposedly (according to an inside source) Britney has her own dressing room.
She has also RSVP’d for 944 Magazine’s MTV VMA pre-party that is being held at the Hollywood hotspot known as Kress on Wednesday. So if it’s a go, and she does show, this will be her first officially scheduled party appearance since she last appeared for the launch of Las Vegas club LAX just over a year ago.
Miley Cyrus flashes a peace sign while out and about with her posse on Friday night. Is her happy mood because she just received her first VMA nomination? She’s one of the ones in running for Best New Artist for her hit “7 Things.” Also in competition are: Katy Perry “I Kissed A Girl,” Taylor Swift “Teardrops on My Guitar,” Jordin Sparks “No Air,” and Tokio Hotel “Ready, Set, Go!.”
The VMAs will air live from Paramount Studios in LA and one-time only in its original format on Sunday, September 7, 2008 @ 9PM (Live ET/Tape Delayed PT). Set your Tivos!
According to Idolator.com, Avril Lavigne’s Girlfriend video is currently Youtube’s all-time no. 2 clip, “having been viewed some 88,739,107″ times.
Is she getting that many views or are some of her more rabid fans helping it along? It now appears that a devious plan has been in the works to move her into the top spot!

The number one position currently belongs to that ‘History of Dance’ clip. Time will tell if her posse manages to get the job done, although it really is pathetic of them in my opinion!
The awards were held in Monaco last night with several stars receiving achievement trophies. Canadian songbird Celine Dion was 
given The Legend Award, the highest honour of the evening. Prince Albert praised her voice by saying it “soothes the world’s hearts and creates smiles of love across the face of the world” when he presented the it to her. Celine dedicated her award in both English and French to her family saying: ” Every time I go on stage it’s all of them going on stage with me.” She’s from a family of 14 children, all of them musical, and she’s the youngest.
Avril Lavigne received awards for : Best Selling pop/rock female artist and best selling Canadian artist.
Patti La Belle was paid tribute for her long time contribution to R&B who also received a standing ovation for her performance of “Lady Marmalade” had this to say: “I love this show because it unites the world with music; we need peace in the world.”
