Beyonce will perform for the third time in her career at the 2008 American Music Awards. She was just added to the list of previously announced performers some of whom include Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, Mariah Carey, Coldplay, New Kids on the Block, Pussycat Dolls, P!nk, and The Fray.

Annie Lennox will be honored with a special Award of Merit.

Jimmy Kimmel will be the host and the show will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. on Sunday, November 23 @ 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

Bono was given an honour by Alicia Keys for his charity work at an Aids fundraiser in New York.
The Black Ball event, was held to raise money for the Keep A Child Alive Foundation which provides treatment for Aids victims in Africa. Gwen Stefani, and Sheryl Crow were also there.
Alicia Keys, who co-founded the charity, described him as “an amazing man (who) works tirelessly at really having a cause and fighting for it”.
She went on to say, “He is an inspiration and single-handedly made it cool to have something to speak about”.
Bono who accepted the award modestly said: “Rock stars always want to do two things. They want to have fun and change the world. If they can do both at the same time, you’re okay”.
