Cynthia Nixon dreams of NY marriage to girlfriend
Sex and the City’s Cynthia Nixon has admitted she may not be able to wait for gay marriage to be legal in her home state of New York before tying the knot with girlfriend Christine Marinoni.
The star, who plays Miranda Hobbs, says she is keen to “fight the good fight” to get gay marriage legal in the Empire State.
But she also admits she is so desperate to wed she may not be able to hold out that long.
“We have a quandary – we live in New York but it’s not legal there yet. Not yet,” she said when asked of wedding plans.
“We are going to try and sit it out in New York and fight the good fight – but we are not going to wait forever.
“We’re doing two things – we’re doing as much as we can to make it legal here, and we’re also looking into other options.”
She stressed: “I’m enjoying being engaged very much. I don’t mind a long engagement, which this one is surely turning out to be.”
