Brooke Mueller responding well to treatment – mother
The wife of Charlie Sheen, Brooke Mueller, is doing well after commencement of antibiotics for an infection following surgery for an impacted wisdom tooth, her mother Moira Fiore said.
She told People that doctors have said her daughter was responding well after her admission to ICU with oral surgery complications.
The hospital stay was a dramatic twist in the emerging saga of Sheen and his wife, who are now facing his court charges of domestic violence. Mueller called 911 on Christmas Day to report Sheen to police, who arrested him. A protective order was slapped on the couple to keep them apart until a court hearing.
But Mueller’s hospitalisation caused Sheen to breach the order. A judge subsequently lifted it to allow his hospital visits ahead of a court hearing. Sheen reportedly held his wife on a visit on Thursday and they were said to be lovey-dovey.
Mueller came down with double pneumonia. Fiore said: “Brooke came in at the very last minute because sepsis from an infection following surgery for her impacted wisdom tooth had invaded her system, and her organs were starting to shut down. Today her lungs, kidney and liver functions look better. But doctors are still worried about her low blood pressure.”
