Melanie Griffith undergoes cancer treatment

Melanie Griffith has undergone surgery to remove the early stages of skin cancer from her face.
The Working Girl star made her treatment public after she was photographed sporting a bruise under her right eye.
Speculation had been mounting as to how Griffith, 52, had obtained the dark mark.
Spokeswoman Robin Baum said the cancer-removing procedure had been performed early enough to prevent any further complications.
Griffith, who is married to actor Antonio Banderas, is best known for her role in 1988 movie Working Girl, which won her a Golden Globe and earned her an Academy Award nomination.
But the actress was also battling a drink-and-drug addiction and checked into rehab that same year.
In 2000 she sought help again, this time for an addiction to pain medication. And just four months ago she completed another stint in rehab, insisting it was part of her ‘routine plan’ to stay healthy.
Griffith wed Banderas in 1996. She has two previous husbands – Don Johnson and Steven Bauer.
In recent years, the actress has run a website giving advice and spiritual guidance to those with drug and alcohol problems.
She once wrote on the site: ‘Overcoming addictions is tough but it can be made easier if you have someone that can offer support.
‘My husband and family supported me so much through this journey and continue to do so.’
Griffith, who is set to appear in TV’s Nip/Tuck next year, has three children from her three spouses – 24-year-old Alexander Bauer, 20-year-old Dakota Johnson and 13-year-old Stella Banderas.
