BEYONCÉ Knowles has become friends with a cancer-stricken little girl who she sang to onstage in Australia.
Footage of the superstar singing her song Halo to brave Chelsea-Lee James, 11, in Sydney, has now become a YouTube hit.
Little Chelsea-Lee cried tears of happiness as her idol performed the song along with most of the 20,000-strong audience.
The next day, Beyoncé called Chelsea-Lee’s home to ask how she was doing.
Chelsea-Lee, who has had a 20cm-long tumor removed from her spine, said: “It was a breathtaking concert. It was so cool.
“She phoned me at home the next day and thanked me for coming on stage with her. I feel like she’s my friend now. She’s so amazing.”
Her mother Donna, from New Lambton, New South Wales, told the Herald newspaper: “For Beyoncé to do that shows what a special person she is.”
The little girl was diagnosed in 2003 an immediately had an operation to remove the 20cm tumor from her spine. Four tumors returned in 2006 and she was given a one per cent chance of survival.
But she has defied the odds and the cancer is now in remission.

Reese Witherspoon has been spotted with a sparkler on her ring finger, fuelling rumours she and Jake Gyllenhaal are betrothed.
Witherspoon was seen in casual dress with a gold diamond ring on her left ring finger. A representative for the actress, however, said it is merely decorative.
The actress was seen over summer holidaying in Europe with Gyllenhaal, who appears besotted with the divorced mother of two.
Witherspoon was formerly married to actor Ryan Phillippe. In recent days she has been seen out and about with her daughter Ava, who appears to be growing into the spitting image of her mum.
Initially a romcom star, Witherspoon is these days one of Hollywood’s top-earning actresses and is known for her dramatic performance in Walk the Line.
