The Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin performed her rendition of Mariah’s “Touch My Body” the other night at a concert in Washington, D.C. She put on quite the show and it was obviously done for fun. She has joined Madonna and Alanis Morissette in ensuring that her fans break a sweat at her concerts - because of her gripping fear of air conditioning.
She left quite a few of her celebrity fans including Christie Brinkley and Rosie Perez in a sweat at her New York concert this past August. The New York Post reported that she turned up the heat despite it being a steaming summer because she was ‘prompted by fears the coolant would destroy her sultry voice.”
A source told the newspaper: “Even Aretha’s security was complaining about the heat in the car on the way to the concert.”
