Queen Latifah Wants Her Personal Life Kept Private

Queen Latifah had this to say in Sunday’s New York Times Magazine:

“I don’t have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life,” she told the reporter. “You don’t get that part of me. Sorry. We’re not discussing it in our meetings, we’re not discussing it at Cover Girl…nobody gets that. I don’t feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway.”

For years, rumours have buzzed about whether Queen Latifah was in a relationship with her personal trainer, Jeanette Jenkins. She was asked in an interview with a Chicago radio station last year if she would be announcing her upcoming wedding that Christmas and replied:

“The only major announcement I have to make is ‘Merry Christmas,’”

Last month she teased that she was going to call her hip-hop album, due to drop this December, The L Word saying:

“L was gonna stand for love though or La,” she told Rolling Stone. “Since people want to play games, I like to jab back sometimes just for fun, but I’m like, ‘Nah, that’s too much energy wasted.’”

I can understand celebrities wanting to try to keep their private life private, but really, do they think they are able to? Let’s talk about Beyonce and Jay-Z. They wouldn’t even admit to dating and then they got married on a roof top and she flashes that massive ring now and then… and people still wonder and they are OK with that!
